Trio Towing started on the Gold Coast in 1977 and was owned by Peter’s Father Ted Allan. In 2003 Peter had the opportunity to relocate to Gympie and take on the External Service Provider for RACQ so Peter and his family jumped at the chance.
Peter started in Gympie with 1 driver ,1 truck, 1 van and 2 girls from the retail store which was located back then in the Gympie Ford Dealership.
After taking over Peter decided to put the retail shop into Goldfield Shopping Centre where it would have no connection to any one type of brand. It has grown from strength to strength and we have expanded to other locations.
Peter was asked if we would be interested in taking on the Cooloola Coast and Fraser Island region. He also agreed.
We had another opportunity to expand 8 years ago into the Hervey Bay region which Peter also decided to move the Retail Store immediately into Stockland shopping Centre during their big revamp and opening of the new centre.
Peter then set up a workshop which is now located in Islander Road Hervey Bay and it has been very successful and enjoyable. It is the type of work myself and my staff love to do Peter Said.
In 2020 During Covid lock down we Tendered for the roadside in Gladstone. Again we were expanding into yet another level 1 area. We now have 5 level 1 areas and 2 level 3 areas.
Peter has 3 sons which have all been involved in the business in Gympie, Hervey Bay and now Gladstone hence the reason for sticking with the name TRIO.
It represents a number of reasons eg:
- Peter Fathers Business was called TRIO
- Peter has 3 sons which was another reason
- Peter has 5 level 1 areas which include Gympie, Hervey Bay and the latest addition to the Family business in Toolooa, which was taken over on the 7 th June 2020 and located at 1 Anson Close Toolooa, 4680
