Trio Automotive Group is a proudly third-generation Australian transport and automotive services business, with roots dating back to 1977 on the Gold Coast. Founded by Ted Allan, the business began as a family-driven operation that laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong legacy in the transport industry.

After decades of dedication, Ted Allan retired to the Bunya Mountains, where he transitioned into farming over 3,000 acres. The family’s connection to transport, however, would soon be reignited.

In 2003, his son Peter Allan revived and expanded the family’s presence in the industry, establishing operations in the Gympie region. Starting with just one driver, one truck, and one van, Peter secured the local RACQ contract and began building a strong foundation for future growth. The early team also included two staff members from the RACQ retail store located within a Ford dealership, marking the beginning of a customer-focused service model that remains central to the business today.

As demand grew, Peter expanded the retail operations into Goldfields Shopping Centre, deliberately creating a brand-neutral environment accessible to all customers. From there, the business continued to strengthen its footprint across Queensland, opening additional retail stores and service locations.

Over the years, Trio Automotive Group extended its operations into the Cooloola Coast, Fraser Island region, Hervey Bay, and Gladstone, growing its network of RACQ-approved repair centres, retail insurance outlets, and tractor service divisions.

In 2018, the third generation of the Allan family joined the business. Peter’s three sons began working within the company, learning every aspect of the industry from the ground up and continuing the family’s hands-on approach to leadership and service.

Today, Trio Automotive Group represents a fast, reliable, and professional transport and automotive service network. With a team of over 100 dedicated staff, the company now services a wide stretch of Australia’s east coast, from Rockhampton in Queensland to Nowra in New South Wales. The business also works closely with major industry partners including RACQ, NRMA, and other leading organisations to provide local communities with the best possible service, every time.
